THE GIRO D'ITALIA

When flecks of pink start to mix with Italy’s yellows, greens, browns, you know the Giro d’Italia is on the way.

May 6th kicks off the first of the annual Grand Tours with what will surely be a spicy TT from Fossacesia Marina to Ortona. From there, riders will cover 3,489 kilometers and 51,400 meters of elevation in 21 stages across some of the most stunning roads in Europe.

Special eyes on Stage 19–the Queen stage–featuring the ever-feared Passo Giau and a max grade of 16.2% 😐. As far as GC excitement goes, we're keeping tabs on the battle between svelte king Roglic and the rainbow, white-bib-kitted Evenepoel.

THE ROUTE

Starting on the beautiful Costa dei Trabocchi and ending in Rome, this year's Giro route has the iconic mountaintop finishes fans expect as well as the unusual inclusion of three long time trials—the Primoz special. As he puts it he is expecting "a big fight" and let Remco Evenepoel know that he will do his best to "make his life harder."
